"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, I know that if ye shall follow the Son, with full purpose of heart, acting no hypocrisy and no deception before God, but with real intent, repenting of your sins, witnessing unto the Father that you are willing to take upon you the name of Christ, by baptism--yea, by following your Lord and your Savior down into the water, according to his word, behold, then shall ye receive the Holy Ghost; yea, then cometh the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost; and then can ye speak with the tongue of angels, and shout praises unto the Holy One of Israel." 2 Nephi 31:13

Week 36

Hello!!

HERBIE!!!
We have President Genaro as our mission President now! We had another zone conference in Londrina that was super great! He emphasized that Brazilians need to learn English because God chose it as the language of the restoration! I had never heard it said in that way before and thought that was neat. He's super excited and animated about the work here. We broke the record for most baptisms in the mission tis past month! We got 168!! Our goal was 200.

President Genaro raised the goal for coming months to 231 and eventually wants upwards of 4 to 5 hundred! I gotta admit...I'm lacking faith in his vision of 500 right now, but maybe in a year we can get there!

I don't really have a lot else to say here about Cambe. Except that I'm leaving! I'm going to Marilia. It's a city back in Sao Paulo again. Not quite as far away as Bauru is though. My companion will be Elder Havili. he's from...i'll give you two guesses! If you guessed Brazil, you were wrong. But from good 'ole Washington again! That makes three from Washington for me! I already know Elder Havili a little from when I was in Bauru-he was in a city nearby and I saw him 3-4 times. I'll send you a picture next week!

This is a box of cereal that is
basically cocoa puffs.
Elder Haws and Elder Abreu
each got a toy in their box!
I'm really not excited to pack up again and then unpack the next day in another city but...that's the life of a missionary!
I really liked Cambe and wanted to stay, but that's why I got transferred!
There are some pictures below:

Until next week!!
